|
ok, so i used to get spam IMs that would say something like "i am getting naked come look at me!" or something. so i would just not click accept. but now i get ones that just say "hi" and then never reply back. what is this? are they somehow getting to me with my replying to them and saying hi back? i am so confused.
AIM IM with kyliew4663 1:45 AM kyliew4663: Hello yanksno1alltime: hey yanksno1alltime: who's this? Kylie w 4663 has gone offline.

i think there needs to be more transparency with regard to why things are done / the reasons why things are done/ the motivations behind things being done.

I just saw the word "coordinates" written "co-ordinates" regarding a map, and it suddenly dawned on me the reason it's called coordinates, that is, that there's two ordinates?/locator thingys, like, a letter and a number, to make a coordinate, B3.
hmmm
I'm trying to think if that ever occurred to me before. It just never struck me before the significance of the word "co" in "coordinates". Am debating whether to feel stupid about never noticing that before.

Harkov Adm: here is what I think Harkov Adm: your course is entitled "moral responsibility" (in american foreign policy) Harkov Adm: it doesn't mean 'philosophy class to think for yourself about what is morality' but rather is just a class that the professor uses to show what the US has done internationally and *psst!* how it is bad according to our common morality Harkov Adm: but philosophical questions about morality or what we are obligated to do are not what the course is about Harkov Adm: is that not what the course is? Harkov Adm: you're just supposed to be stupid and pretend not to have any alternative moral ideas yanksno1alltime: yes, basically yanksno1alltime: i am kinda frustrated with it Harkov Adm: and be like 'we had a responsibility to help those people and here were all the chances we had to help them and we didn't and that is wrong! (why? well umm that is outside the scope of this essay)' Harkov Adm: A+ ! yanksno1alltime: haha yanksno1alltime: so true( more )

12:42 am - google's define: word
|
One of the coolest things ever I think is google definitions. (It's interesting how I start my sentences how i do - instead of writing "I think google's definitions is one of the coolest things ever" i write "one of the coolest things ever i think is..."). I think it is so cool how you look up the word and you come up with all these definitions from different sources so that you have different meanings of the word in different contexts because some of the definitions come from sources that are specific to one topic and all its definitions are related to that, and then you can see how all the different meanings and uses of the word relate to one another.
[Edit: example]

4:03 am - alcohol rant...
|
( background... )
Anyway, I am really frustrated about how seemingly unaware they were about the health issues regarding alcohol. First of all, his friend was making a big deal over him eating food and drinking water. This may indeed make him feel better for whatever reason, and might have a slight effect on the rate that alcohol is absorbed from his stomach, though the throwing up is much more effective at this and he had already done that, but his friend kept saying "well you're not gonna sober up if you don't drink water". Think about it. Obviously if a BAC of .3% or whatever it is is lethal, then having a little water and increasing your total volume of water in your bloodstream from a lot compared to the blood alcohol to slightly more of a lot isn't going to make any significant difference in BAC percentage. I really hope people understand this. You can't just de-drunk yourself by drinking water. It's not magic like that.
And also that he is going to let someone sleep who is continually complaining about how drunk he is and how much he needs to pass out.
Ack.
Know your drugs before you use them, please. Please be careful, and be aware.
And as a final note, nobody ever ever ever ever let me get that drunk, please. It does not look fun. I hope I never get that drunk ever.

3:03 pm - def avocation
|
I love how there are words with 2 alternate definitions which are totally the opposite of each other:
def - avocation n. 1) An activity taken up in addition to one's regular work or profession, usually for enjoyment; a hobby. 2) One's regular work or profession. - dictionary.com
